Priméale has implemented a system whereby vegetables are harvested at their optimum ripeness and then packaged and transported, arriving on the shop shelves in as short a time as possible.

Priméale Landes new carrots are picked and shipped in less than a day.

We’re constantly improving our packaging, too: the vegetables are better protected and stay fresh, retaining their minerals and vitamins better.

The “Certified Quality Criteria” label guarantees that your chosen vegetable is of better quality than “standard” vegetables.

Each type of vegetable has its own criteria: these are the subject of detailed specifications. They also undergo stringent controls by a mandated body.

So for example, Landes new carrots bearing the “Certified Quality Criteria” logo have guaranteed optimum freshness:

- Traceability from the field to the consumer

What is a Protected Geographical Indication?

The Protected Geographical Indication (P.G.I.) label was created by a European regulation in 1992. The P.G.I. label protects the name of a product from a limited geographical area, where the link to the origin is guaranteed by a reputation, quality or other specific characteristic, and with the production, processing and formulation taking place in the same geographical area.

The Red Label is the only official sign certifying that a food or farm product meets a set of previously established specific characteristics, guaranteeing superior quality. To achieve superior quality, the specific characteristics of labelled products are laid out in defined “specifications”. Whatever the product, in addition to strictly adhering to health and safety rules, the quality requirements and considerations for the label relate to production, processing and marketing. This Red Label concerns specific production requirements with regard to the work of growers and processors; the know-how for each aspect is adhered to by means of extremely strict specifications. The same is true for packaging, preservation, shipping and marketing techniques. The Red Label therefore provides better taste qualities.

For example: Red Label sand carrots are the result of stringent specifications relating to soil quality and preparation, phytosanitary protection, soil irrigation and carrot sorting.

This stringency ensures this vegetable’s unique taste (pleasant and mild, with no bitterness, crunchy, juicy and fine), as recognised and acclaimed by consumers during tests.
